Who we are
Effektiver Altruismus Deutschland (EAD) e.V. is a non-profit organisation dedicated to building and promoting a Germany-wide network of people who think carefully about the world’s biggest problems and take effective action to solve them. We do this by providing coordination, communication, learning opportunities and services, and by serving as the central point of contact for the German Effective Altruism (EA) community.
We are particularly committed to promoting careers that have a major positive impact on the world. Therefore, we offer specific programmes such as our 1-1 Career Counselling, our Career Planning Programme, and our annual conference EAGxBerlin to help individuals plan and realise their impactful careers and connect them with relevant organisations and like-minded people. We are probably the only organisation in Germany that specialises in guiding people toward meaningful careers with a positive impact.

1. Name, registered office, address
Effektiver Altruismus Deutschland (EAD) e.V. is recognised as a non-profit, registered association at the Charlottenburg District Court (VR 39993 B). Our registered office is in Berlin. Our address is EAD e.V., c/o UES gGmbH, Müllerstr. 138D, 13353 Berlin.
The association was founded in 2019 under the name Network for Effective Altruism Germany (NEAD) e.V.

3. Information on tax concessions
The last tax assessment notice regarding recognition as a non-profit association was issued by the tax office Finanzamt für Körperschaften I (Bredtschneiderstr. 5, 14057 Berlin) and is valid until 31 July 2027. With the renaming and relocation of the association to Berlin, we now have this tax number: 27/673/57041.

The central body of the organisation is the board.
Sarah Tegeler manages the organisation as director.
5. Reports on the activities of our organisation
We see our website as a report on the activities of our organisation. We are also available to answer questions on request at info@effektiveraltruismus.de.
6. Staff structure
The head office is staffed by four employees. We also work with service providers and volunteers.
7./8. Source of funds/use of funds
The staff positions are currently financed by the Centre for Effective Altruism, donations as well as by Open Philanthropy via a transfer of funds from Effektiv Spenden.
Information on the use of funds can be found in the 2024 annual financial statement.
9. Affiliation with third parties
The association has no social ties with third parties. Any conflicts of interest of the Executive Board and management are noted in the register of interests.
10. Names of legal entities whose annual payments account for more than 10% of the total annual budget
In 2024, the association received donations from Effective Ventures (Centre for Effective Altruism) that exceeded 10% of the total annual budget.
